Tanal Barakat is a Los Angeles based artist who graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008 with a B.A. in Art in addition to a minor in Arabic language. He is currently working as a freelance artist and has also worked as a curator, hosting art exhibitions showcasing a variety of artists of different genres. His diverse body of work is representative of his versatile style and media experience. Tanal's work is heavily influenced by Near Eastern aesthetics, grounded in the context of the present, and engages with global socio-political issues as well as lighter subjects.
